Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for years. Guests from every one of the neighboring states load up in automobiles and travel to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Native tribes located in Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were founded. automated games such as slots weren’t approved, since they are believed to lead to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to allow for enormous Native gambling gambling halls. You will now see Native casinos with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Native casinos yet, but this is simply a matter of time. Nobody can say whether having different gambling den games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
